Thursday, January 31 - Friday, February 29, 2008: Public Review Period

Monday, February 11, 2008 at 6:30 pm: Public Hearing at the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center, 301 Caspian Way, Imperial Beach, CA 91932.

The project proposes the implementation of a Sediment Fate and Transport Study within Border Field State Park at the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve. The project would utilize sorted sediment from the Goat Canyon Sediment Retention Basins and deposit it along designated areas of Border Field State Beach (also known as Silver Strand Beach) north of Monument Road and south of the Tijuana Rivermouth.

Based on the Initial Study and supporting environmental analysis provided in the document, together with the incorporation of mitigation measures into the project description, the proposed project would result in less than significant impacts for the following issue areas: aesthetics, agricultural resources, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use and planning, mineral resources, noise, population and housing, public services, recreation, transportation/traffic, and utilities and service systems. The Notice of Completion contains a summary of the project description and impacts. Refer to Chapters 2 and 3 of the Draft IS/MND for full descriptions and analysis.
