Earth Day -
Although every day is Earth Day at the Tijuana Estuary, come April 22nd
every year an on-site project is planned for volunteers who are interested
in getting involved with this nationwide event. Beginning in 1998, a very
disturbed area overgrown with non-native vegetation was removed and then
planted with native plants by volunteers on Earth Day. This area has come
to be called the Children's Garden and every year since, we have spent
our Earth Day efforts on maintaining and improving this area with the
help of committed volunteers and the community.
